Prevent Blindness North Carolina is honored to recognize Dr. Nicole Lynch of Gaston Eye Associates as one of our valued Visionary Partners. Dr. Lynch plays a vital role in our mission to preserve sight across the state, generously dedicating her expertise to review the vast majority of our retinal screening images. In the past year alone, she reviewed images for more than 3,800 people, helping to ensure that individuals at risk for vision loss receive timely referrals and care.
When asked why she chooses to serve as a Visionary Partner, Dr. Lynch shared:
“I am absolutely honored to be a Visionary Partner with PBNC. I am obsessed with eye health and this is a great way to contribute some of my skills to a fantastic organization. I hope to be able to continue for many years to come.”
Dr. Lynch brings an impressive background to her work. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Her excellence in the field has been recognized with several awards, including the David J. Kerko Low Vision Award and multiple Clinical Excellence Citations from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and proudly serves with Prevent Blindness North Carolina.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Lynch enjoys a full and vibrant life with her husband, Steve, along with their three dogs and a cat. When she’s not caring for patients, you can often find her enjoying sports, reading, heading to the beach, or cheering on the Atlanta Braves.
PBNC is deeply grateful for Dr. Lynch’s dedication and partnership. Her commitment, both professionally and personally, makes a lasting difference in the lives of North Carolinians and strengthens our shared vision of a future where preventable blindness is eliminated.
