volunteers neededPrevent Blindness North Carolina is a 501(c)3 nonprofit health agency that provides direct service screening programs, public and professional awareness campaigns, and community vision education. Prevent Blindness relies on gifts, contributions, foundations, corporations, and volunteers to make these programs and services available throughout North
Carolina.

The NC State Fair Parking Lot is the largest grossing annual fundraising event for PBNC. We are able to accommodate a very large number of vehicles throughout the length of the NC State Fair and expect to have more than 11,000 cars and countless fairgoers utilize our lots this year. All funds raised go to support the mission of Prevent Blindness North Carolina – to prevent blindness, preserve and restore sight, and promote good vision for all North Carolinians. The NC State Fair will be held October 13 – October 23, 2022. The Parking Lot is located at the intersection of Blue Ridge Rd and Westchase Blvd in Raleigh, a short walk from the entrance to the state fairgrounds. The parking lot hours will be Monday – Friday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm for the duration of the fair.

We have over 150 shifts during this 11-day event that need volunteers to fill.  Volunteering at this event, you’ll help direct cars into the lots, provide information, collect fees, and more.  It is sometimes fast-paced, sometimes slow and casual – but always fun!  The parking lot project is great for small groups wanting to volunteer together.  Click the URL below and register for one or more shifts!  (REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER).
