Mr. Merritt received a retinal screening from Prevent Blindness NC at the Bernstein Community Health Center in Greenville NC. After the screening results indicated a possible problem with the pressure in his eyes, Mr. Merritt knew he needed to be seen by a doctor. Through PBNC and our partnership with the VSP Voucher Program, Mr. Merritt was able to apply for and receive a voucher which covered the entire cost of his comprehensive eye exam. Currently Mr. Merritt’s eye pressure is normal. He says “I just want to thank Prevent Blindness for helping me with the exam, without them it would not have been possible. Prevent Blindness is a lifesaver and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
